And The Winner Is...

New Jersey, San Bernardino Collect Awards

- 03/03/2008

The New Jersey Division of Investment was named Large Public Plan of the Year at MML’s 7th annual Public Pension Fund Awards For Excellence ceremony and dinner at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa in California. Mid-Sized and Small Public Plan of the Year awards went to the San Bernardino County (Calif.) Employees Retirement Association and the Ohio Highway Patrol Retirement System, respectively. Chuck Valdes, chairman of the investment committee at the California Public Employees Retirement System, was presented with MML’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Baring Asset Management, PIMCO, Paulson & Co. and Piedmont Investment Advisors were honored as Equity, Bond, Alternatives and Emerging Manager of the Year, respectively. Allan Martin, partner at NEPC, was named Consultant of the Year, while Paul Meskiewicz, managing director at Hartford Financial Group, won the Marketer of the Year award. The dinner was held in conjunction with Information Management Network and Institutional Investor Events.
