The $60 billion Ohio Public Employees Retirement System is considering an expansion of its alternatives allocation. The scheme has been getting education from Mercer, its general consultant, on hedge fund and infrastructure strategies. The fund currently invests only in real estate at 8% and private equity at 5% as part of its alternatives portfolio, and the consultant is recommending diversifying the fund into other areas, said a fund official.
